Shaping Germany's energy transition with strategic BESS optimization
Munich, October 21, 2024 : Europe's leading battery optimizer enspired is partnering with Entelios, one of Germany’s main providers of flexibility services, to market the flexibility of ECO POWER ONE, a large-scale BESS asset owned by ECO STOR, across all available revenue streams. Located in Bollingstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, this groundbreaking project represents a significant milestone in the energy transition. With a capacity of 103.5 MW and 238.5 MWh, the battery storage system is set to make a substantial contribution to grid stability and supply security starting in January 2025.
ECO POWER ONE: A key project for the energy transition
ECO POWER ONE makes a decisive contribution to the integration of renewable energies and the stabilization of the electricity grid. In grid areas with a high proportion of wind generation, the storage system enables surplus energy from wind and PV systems to be utilized efficiently by storing it temporarily and feeding it into the grid as required. This approach effectively balances out grid fluctuations, while participation in control reserve markets supports frequency stability and increases security of supply. With its versatility, ECO POWER ONE creates a stable basis for the energy transition and strengthens the regional energy infrastructure.
