Optimizing another crucial battery project in Germany

Rugendorf / Vienna / Munich, June 18, 2026. Münch Energie is expanding its battery storage operations in Saxony-Anhalt with two large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). Each project has a capacity of 50 MW and 100 MWh. Entelios is enabling the integration of ancillary services, while enspired is optimizing the assets in a proven cross-market setup.

With a combined output of 100 MW and a total capacity of 200 MWh, the two storage systems make an important contribution to integrating renewable energy, increasing power system flexibility, and stabilizing grid infrastructures. The projects build on the partners’ successful collaboration on similar battery storage projects.

For Münch Energie, these two projects underscore the growing importance of large-scale storage for a flexible and secure energy system. Trading takes place through the relevant spot markets. In this process, the flexibility of the storage facilities is utilized intelligently and across markets to tap into opportunities that are both beneficial to the grid and economically attractive. For Entelios, the project demonstrates how high-performance storage infrastructure and smart trading can work together.

Both BESS projects highlight the growing importance of large-scale battery storage for a renewable, resilient, and increasingly flexible energy system. High-performance batteries, diversified revenue streams, and smart trading are essential asset components in a dynamic market environment.
